HCLTech, Sarvam and Odisha government plan AI data centre with Rs 14,257 crore outlay

HCLTech, Sarvam, and the Odisha government announced an AI data centre in Bhubaneswar at the Odisha Sovereign AI Park with a Rs 14,257 crore outlay.
HCLTech will combine its full-stack AI capabilities with Sarvam's foundation models to develop sector-specific applications for private and public sector organisations.
The project supports India’s sovereign AI ecosystem and aims to provide multilingual AI-based services while addressing government sovereignty requirements.
An MoU was signed in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and state minister Mukesh Mahaling.
HCLTech previously invested Rs 1,427.25 crore for a 10.46% stake in Sarvam and plans to invest up to Rs 3,500 crore in AI data centres with a potential 50 MW capacity.
