UP govt reconstitutes SIT in Ram temple donation ‘theft’ case after Supreme Court order

UP government reconstituted the SIT probing alleged theft of cash donations at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya after a Supreme Court order.
The new SIT is headed by inspector general (Lucknow range) Kiran S, replacing the earlier panel led by IAS officer Vijay Vishwas Pant.
The reconstituted SIT includes DIG (Ayodhya) Somen Barma and SSP (Ayodhya) Gaurav Grover as members.
The SIT is expected to submit its first progress report to the Supreme Court on July 27.
The case involves an FIR against eight people for allegedly siphoning off donations; all have been arrested.
