Nolan Wells audio: Listen to frantic call made from boat on Horn Island, ‘We’re sinking’

A recording released by officials captures a frantic call from a boat involved in the Nolan Wells death investigation in Mississippi.

The call was made on July 4, 2026, by a teen on a boat on Horn Island to the private towing company Sea Tow.

The teen reported the bilge pump stopped working and the boat was sinking, asking for the boat to be unsunk and towed to Fort Bayou launch.

Nolan Wells, from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, was found dead in the water on the northwest end of Horn Island on July 6, 2026.

Sea Tow indicated the boat's owner later said the teens did not need help, and the call disconnected when the dispatcher tried to transfer to a captain.
