CWG 2026: Neeraj Chopra checks in after long injury rehab
Neeraj Chopra arrived in Glasgow on July 26, 2026, for the Commonwealth Games after missing the 2022 edition due to injury.
Chopra's only competition in the past year was the Doha Diamond League, where he placed fourth with a throw of 85.69m.
He has been rehabilitating a lower back injury and also dealt with ankle, shoulder, wrist, and adductor issues in recent years.
Chopra will face rivals Arshad Nadeem (Pakistan) and Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage (Sri Lanka), who produced a world-leading 92.62m in Rome.
The men's javelin throw qualifying is set for July 30, with Chopra joined by Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh.
